Best Children’s Geodesic Climbing Domes by Pacific Domes

Harnessing the power-of-play, the best playground equipment is unequivocally the geodome climber, which is manufactured in the USA by Pacific Domes.  Children’s geodesic climbing domes become a social interactive hub for toddlers and young energetic children to build muscles, develop critical life skills and gain self-confidence thru jungle-gym geodome climbing, swinging and upside-down acrobatics.

As nature’s perfect round structures, geodesic climbing domes elicit children’s joyful laughter in an expansive connected learning environment.  Children especially love being able to peekaboo at each other thru the open bars of a geodome.

The ‘Children’s Workshop Oakland Pre-school’ in Oakland, California, erected a geodesic climbing dome for their schoolyard that has served a dual purpose. It has become home to countless art projects, car races, jam sessions, music and dance parties and tons of all around fun!

In a recent testimonial Jessica Spencian says, “We care for children ages two to five-years-old.  The 16 ft. tall geodome from Pacific Domes has been so instrumental in our school's ability to expand its ‘Reggio Emilia’ inspired learning program.  The children enjoy inspiration from the outdoors all year round!  Thank you, Pacific Domes team for helping us to create this amazing addition to our more typical indoor classroom!”

  1. Please post a prominent warning about the need for a safe surface beneath the dome climber stating the recommended depth of materials relative to the height of the climber.

  2. Hello and Good Day,

Safety is our utmost concern, with respect to building and installing climbing domes for children.

The thickness of the flooring is determined by law in each state, given the height of the dome.

In general, a six foot tall dome should have 2 1/2" flooring, and an 8ft tall dome should have 3 1/2" of padding under the dome. However, we recommend double checking your state regulations before installing a dome.

In addition, we powder coat our dome frames so they remain cool the the touch in full sun.

Thanks for reading, and do share this with your friends.
