Brides of Eden is a Portland-based nonprofit working to bring fresh foods and gardens to food banks and also to help women and families establish non-violent empowered lives. Using wedding dresses and garden parties to draw attention to their cause, Denise Martin and the Brides of Eden hope to get national attention.
The Brides of Eden are working to raise money to purchase greenhouse domes to be used at food banks where they will help promote healthy eating for some of the most impoverished in our communities. They also provide joy and hope to women by providing donated wedding gowns and accessories. Through fun parties and events, women can try on gowns and feel like a princess for a day! Denise feels this could be perfect for a reality show premise.
The organization hopes to buy property where they can grow food in a 60' Pacific Domes greenhouse dome and house the nonprofit. They are also looking for sponsors to "adopt" mothers and children in immediate need.
